San Diego Body Shop Real Stories

Santee Collision First Video – “Real Body Shop Stories” Episode 1.

This is the transcript of a video showing a real estimate in progress by Santee Collision Center, located in the San Diego, California area. Here we have a car that has been in an accident, the front end is pretty smashed, and the hood is slightly folded. The video shows Candice, the owner of Santee Collision Center, and a client.

Candice, said: “We’re going to go ahead and tear the vehicle down, to see the additional damages that might be part of this repair. I’m glad that you didn’t open the hood of the vehicle, because once you open up the hood it’s a liability that the hood might fly up. Anyway, do you have any concerns about the vehicle?” The Client asked, “Is the frame going to be repaired?”

Candice said, “Once we take the bumper off, and open up the hood, detrim the vehicle with the headlamp and take the fender off, we’ll see if your frame reels are damaged, and that will also give us an inspection for the air-conditioning and the radiator.”

They then moved around to the back of the car, where the back fender has some scratches and dings. The client asked what it would cost to get it repaired, and Candice began to explain the process: “well there’s two different ways that we can do this to get some savings for the customer, we can just do a spot repair and a spot refinish and a blend. That’s what we can do to just cut the cost, or else we can go ahead and do the whole entire bumper and refinish it once we repair this area here (pointed to area with dent)”

Candice then offered to do an estimate for him that would detail the costs of each procedure. This has been an episode of “Real Body Shop Stories”. We hope you enjoyed it and check back often for future editions. For more information, visit the website at
