Finding a final resting place for scrap cars
Nobody likes to have to get rid of their old car. If you have managed to drive your car into the ground, and it just doesn’t want to run anymore, then you have to do the only humane thing left, and commit to the great burial ground in the sky! Like a family pet, it can actually be an emotional experience too! People do actually get emotionally attached to their vehicles, and when it comes to saying goodbye it can be a tough experience! Of course, it is only a metal object, and most people manfully struggle on, but it is certainly a bit galling to have to actually spend out your own money to get rid of the thing! Most people are used to being able to sell cars, but if it really is the end of the road for your car, then the absolute best you can hope for is being able to get rid of it for free.
Some people will find that they can get their car to limp its final journey to the scrap yard, and if this is the case then you stand a better chance of not having to pay anything, but you obviously have to be very careful to make sure that you are driving a road legal car. In most cases though, you will have to summon a collection company, and they will charge you as much as they think they can get away with for this task.
There is another way though. You will find that if you search on the internet, you will be able to find a special website which deals with scrap cars all the time, and they will be able to have your vehicle collected for you for free, and they will also donate some money to charity with the proceeds of your vehicle! This means that if the collection company manage to get any money at the scrap yard, they will give the remainder to charity after their costs. You will find a list of the charities on the website, and all you have to do is nominate the one you want to help. All you need to do is to go directly to the site and get in touch with them. Once you are on the phone, you can let them know which charity you would like to support, and then where you are so they know where to send the collection company. From that point on, there really is nothing that you have to do other than to hand your keys over once the tow company arrives.
Of course, you might have to say a sad farewell to your old trusty friend, but at least be glad that you are not doing so with a heavy heart and a light wallet!
