Infiniti Expert Certified Services Multi-point Inspection
Infiniti Expert Certified Services Multi-point Inspection
I read recently that the average new car has over 10,000 parts in it and includes seven computers. Theres a computer for the engine, one for the transmission, one for the navigation, one for the anti-lock brakes, etc. 10,000 parts and seven computers makes for a very complicated machine.
But for all of this, modern cars are amazingly reliable, robust and long lasting. My new Infiniti G35 came with a 4-year, 60,000 mile warranty. When I was a kid, I remember my moms new car coming with a one year, 12,000 mile warranty. But even more, my new Infiniti has a 6-year, 70,000 mile powertrain warranty. That shows that Infiniti has confidence in my car.
I recently took my car in for its 15,000 mile service. I took it to an Infiniti Express Service dealer, just as I had for its 3500 and 7500 mile service. Infiniti Express Service is a no-appointment fast oil change and service. Within an hour, certified Infiniti technicians change my oil and filter, use only genuine Infiniti parts like oil and air filters that I know meet my cars quality needs, conduct a multipoint safety inspection, and wash and vacuum my car for me. All at a price thats competitive with the down and dirty quickie lube place down the street.
I was interested in what actually happens during the multipoint safety inspection and my Infiniti service advisor gladly went over it with me. The expert certified technicians make sure that all of my exterior lights are working, they measure my tire tread, inspect my brakes, inspect under the hood, inspect all around the underneath of my car, test my battery with a computerized battery tester, and will plug a diagnostic computer into my cars computer if there is any kind of Check Engine light on.
Dont gloss over the value of genuine certified expert Infiniti technicians inspecting your car. They know your car inside and out. They repair Infiniti brakes, engines and transmissions, they know your car like the back of their hand and therefore they know what theyre looking for during the inspection. Every car is different; every brand of car is different. Whats true for a Honda may not be true for an Infiniti and vice versa.
When that quickie lube place around the corner advertises their “inspection” I have to wonder, what are they inspecting? The workers there are not factory trained and certified like my Infiniti technicians. They arent trained to do brake jobs, transmission and engine repairs, etc. They see hundreds of different types of cars in any given week, they cant possibly know the ins and outs of all of those cars service and parts needs.
The value of an inspection cannot exceed the knowledge and training of the inspector. At the quickie lube, how do I know that the person “inspecting” my car wasnt stocking grocery shelves the week before? Do I want to trust my life or my family members lives on the unknown skill of the person “inspecting” my brakes? I dont think so.
When you factor in that an Infiniti Express Service uses only genuine Infiniti parts, is fast (less than an hour), they wash and vacuum your car, and the price is competitive with that quickie lube, well, why wouldnt you take your Infiniti to the Infiniti dealer? Fast, reasonably priced, genuine parts, and a multipoint safety inspection conducted by a real factory certified expert technicianyou cant ask for more.
